Lost World Artmaking Circle + Mind Map

  • Endopolis Poetry Circle 40 Main St, Suite 201 Florence, MA USA (map)

Every 4th Friday of the month, the Endopolis Poetry Room will be opening the space for an artmaking circle. It is free and open to artists at all experience levels.

Hosted by local Easthampton-based artist Liz Hamm, the circle will begin with some time to greet each other and get settled, followed by a 30-minute creative prompt. This week, Liz will be showing us how to create mind maps! Then, the remainder of the evening will be unstructured time to work on individual art projects with quiet music as background. Feel free to bring a project you have already started! There will be sketchbooks and pens/pencils available for use as well.

IMPORTANT! While we support all kinds of art--and art which is chaotic and messy to create certainly holds a special place in our hearts--we unfortunately can't allow use of spillable or stainable supplies including paints and drawing inks. The Endopolis Poetry Room is carpeted and we're renters, not owners. Thanks for understanding!

There are two folding snack tables and a coffee table to use as workspaces which live in the Endopolis Poetry Room. Feel free to bring your tools for making digital art too!

The space is small and set up like a living room. There is chair/couch seating for ~12, and floor seating for an additional ~5.

———————

The Endopolis Poetry Room is in Suite 201 on the second floor of 40 Main St, an office building in downtown Florence, MA. To use the elevator, go in the doors under the Central Building / Main Entrance sign. Follow the hall back to the elevator and go up to the 2nd floor. Take a right off the elevator and follow signs all the way down (through a bunch of doors) to 201.

To use the outside stairs, first identify the North building and its exterior signage (it’s to your left if standing in the parking lot, facing 40 Main). There is an outdoor stairway next to the North building. Take it up to the 2nd floor. Once inside the exterior door there—you’ll be in an unheated lobby thing—201 is the door on your left.

IMPORTANT NOTE: To enter the 201 space there are three carpeted steps down. There’s no way around them, and there’s no railing. Let me know if you want to make a game-plan around this inaccessibility.

ANOTHER NOTE: There are gendered bathrooms for us to use in the building, down a long-ish hallway. They are near the elevator.

This event is 100% free, but we also accept donations which will be used to offset costs for communal art supplies and snacks/rent/etc.
