Please join me for an open mic without the stage, mic, host, and sign-up list. But that’s just a poetry circle, you say? You are correct!

This event is hosted by Catherine Weiss and we will be featuring a special guest poet, Wheeler Light!

About our feature: Wheeler Light currently lives in Washington, DC. He is a Pushcart Prize & Best of the Net nominee, as well as the recipient of the IthacaLit Difficult Fruit Poetry Prize. In 2017 and 2018, he represented the Mercury Cafe Poetry Slam at national and regional events, and is the 2018 Mercury Cafe Grand Slam Champion. His work has appeared or is forthcoming in Hobart, New Delta Review, December Magazine, and Pretty Owl Poetry, among others.

Please feel free to bring a couple of poems to read! You can also read poetry by other poets, or just come to listen!

The space is small and set up like a living room. There is chair/couch seating for ~12, and floor seating for an additional ~5, and standing room/lurking in the doorway after that.

The Endopolis Poetry Room is in Suite 201 on the second floor of 40 Main St, an office building in downtown Florence, MA. To use the elevator, go in the doors under the Central Building / Main Entrance sign. Follow the hall back to the elevator and go up to the 2nd floor. Take a right off the elevator and follow signs all the way down (through a bunch of doors) to 201.

To use the outside stairs, first identify the North building and its exterior signage (it’s to your left if standing in the parking lot, facing 40 Main). There is an outdoor stairway next to the North building. Take it up to the 2nd floor. Once inside the exterior door there—you’ll be in an unheated lobby thing—201 is the door on your left.

IMPORTANT NOTE: To enter the 201 space there are three carpeted steps down. There’s no way around them, and there’s no railing. Let me know if you want to make a game-plan around this inaccessibility.

ANOTHER NOTE: There are gendered bathrooms for us to use in the building, down a long-ish hallway. They are near the elevator.

This event is 100% free, but we also accept donations.
