Wednesday Workshop: Poem Revision!

  • Endopolis Poetry 40 Main St, Suite 201 Florence, MA USA (map)

This Wednesday we’re going to talk about revising your poems. When should you revise? How can you tell if you're making your poem better or worse? What about getting critiques from other people? What if they hate my poems!!?? We'll talk about all that.

And on the flip side: How can you give helpful critiques if someone asks me for help on their poem? What happens at an editing workshop? What do I say if I don't like a poem??? We'll talk about all that stuff too!

Bring bring some of your own poems to offer the group to practice critiquing, if you're up for it! (If not, TOTALLY FINE.)

Drop in anytime between 7-9 PM! Free.
Hosted by Catherine Weiss.

The Endopolis Poetry Room is in Suite 201 on the second floor of 40 Main St, an office building in downtown Florence, MA. To use the elevator, go in the doors under the Central Building / Main Entrance sign. Follow the hall back to the elevator and go up to the 2nd floor. Take a right off the elevator and follow signs all the way down (through a bunch of doors) to 201.

To use the outside stairs, first identify the North building and its exterior signage (it’s to your left if standing in the parking lot, facing 40 Main). There is an outdoor stairway next to the North building. Take it up to the 2nd floor. Once inside the exterior door there—you’ll be in an unheated lobby thing—201 is the door on your left.

IMPORTANT NOTE: To enter the 201 space there are three carpeted steps down. There’s no way around them, and there’s no railing. Let me know if you want to make a game-plan around this inaccessibility.

ANOTHER NOTE: There are gendered bathrooms for us to use in the building, down a long-ish hallway. They are near the elevator.
